Flint River clean up

On Wednesday evening (7/27) several Rotarians and folks from the Flint River coalition donned waders and fired up their chainsaws. As part of our continuing support for this project, our club will be participating in upcoming cleanup events between Rotary Park and Saginaw St. (near K's Auto).

August 2 Golf Outing

Tuesday is our annual golf outing at Devil's Ridge in Metamora. As one of our major fundraising events, we need everyone's help in making it successful. If you haven't already signed up, please come out to the course between 11am and 1pm to see if we need any more help. Devil's Ridge is on Metamora Rd. North of Oakwood....Prez

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie's family as we reflect on the rich life of our fellow Rotarian who passed on last week. Charlie loved to entertain us with his "little diddy's". There was one that went something like this...

There once was a man from Nantucket,
Who kept all of his cash in a bucket,
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man,
And as for the bucket, Nantookit.

"The will to do it"

Texas Hold'em Update: Ernie Miller will be conducting dealer training at the Aug 9th meeting. Until then, video and pictures will be available on the web site for downloading and viewing.

Soap Box Derby Update: "THE RAMP" is proceeding well. After changing to larger tires, "Rotary 1" should make it down the hill now. We will be having a build-off on Saturday August 6 starting at 9am til it gets too hot to stay outside. Thanks go to Central Michigan Lumber for donating building materials.
